Buy a Dirndl, over 355 Models
The heart of our shop. Over 355 dirndl models in every length, colour and size from 32 to 54. Each model offers a different silhouette, from the traditional dirndl dress to the modern version with an emphasised skirt. Mini dirndls of around 50 to 60 cm end above the knee and are often especially flattering for women up to around 170 cm tall. Midi dirndls in the classic length end about a hand's width below the knee, show the calves charmingly and are our absolute bestseller, suited to any occasion. Long dirndls of 85 to 100 cm look particularly festive and are the choice for weddings and balls. Add to that festive models with embroidery and lace, everyday dirndls for relaxed days and dirndl sets with a matching blouse for anyone who wants to decide quickly. Buying a dirndl has never been easier: filter by colour, length, size or brand and find your dream dirndl in just a few minutes.
The most popular colours for 2026: dark green and moss green lead the trend. Classic red and dark blue remain evergreens. Pastel tones such as pink, lavender and mint green are gaining ground for festive occasions. Black and bordeaux are establishing themselves as elegant timeless classics. You will find all colours directly in the colour categories: red dirndls, black dirndls, green dirndls, blue dirndls and pink dirndls.
Still unsure which dirndl suits you? Our Traditional Fashion Guide 2026 helps you choose, with the right cuts, current trends and tips on colours and style.
Buy Lederhosen, for Men and Women
Traditional fashion for men usually revolves around a pair of lederhosen. The short knee-length lederhosen for the beer festival, the long breeches for more traditional occasions. See all models in the lederhosen overview or go straight to the men's lederhosen. We also carry women's lederhosen, found in the women's range. Brown, black and natural tones are the classic colours that last for decades when cared for.
Buy Dirndl Blouses, the Heart of the Outfit
No complete dirndl without a blouse. The right dirndl blouse, together with suitable underwear or a dirndl bra, creates a beautiful neckline. Our blouse collection includes white classics, lace blouses for festive occasions, short-sleeved versions for warm days and high-necked models for traditional looks. A traditional necklace accentuates the neckline even more. White dirndl blouses are our best-selling category, and in the sale they are regularly heavily reduced.
Buy Traditional Shirts, the Men's Essential
A proper traditional shirt belongs with every pair of lederhosen. Checked or plain, short or long sleeved. You will find every variant under men's traditional shirts. Short-sleeved shirts for hot festival evenings, long-sleeved shirts as a base for the Janker or waistcoat. Checked shirts in classic traditional colours are our strongest category for men.
Accessories, the Finishing Touch
Traditional jewellery, belts, bags, hair accessories and stockings. Under traditional accessories you will find everything that completes the outfit. The apron is part of it too and can noticeably change the look of a dirndl. Traditional necklaces and Charivari for men and women. Traditional belts to match the lederhosen. Hair accessories for the perfect dirndl look. And traditional bags, small, structured and festive.
A small tradition with a big effect is the dirndl bow: the position of the apron bow reveals your relationship status. Tied on the left means single, tied on the right means taken or married. Worn at the front in the middle it is traditionally for young girls or the undecided, tied at the back it is usually associated with widows or service staff. If you want to flatter the waist, tie the bow rather delicately and not too full.
Why Dirndl.com? The Most Important Reasons
A Selection That Is Truly Broad
Over 355 dirndl models means you will probably find more options here than in most bricks-and-mortar traditional fashion stores. And all of it comfortably from home, without the stress of parking or queuing at the fitting room. Buying a dirndl online has exactly this advantage, the full selection at a glance. Filters by colour, length, size, brand and price bring you quickly to what you are really looking for. When comparing, also pay attention to the lacing and to a good bodice fitting closely. It is cut like a corset and shapes the waist.
Sizes That Really Exist
We carry dirndls in sizes from 32 to 54. That sounds self-evident, but it is not the case everywhere. Dirndls in large sizes are no afterthought with us. Many models are explicitly available in plus sizes, with adapted cuts developed for fuller figures.
Unsure about the size? Our dirndl size guide explains step by step how to find your perfect size, with a measuring guide and tips on fit.
Brands With Real Character
The brands in our range come from Bavaria and Austria. The dirndl originally emerged in the 19th century as the working dress of maids and only later became the festive traditional dress we know today. With us the rule is: no fast-fashion tracht, no imitations, no costume wear. Here are the most important brands:
Krüger Dirndl: a Bavarian institution. High-quality fabrics, classic cuts and excellent workmanship. Priced in the premium segment, but a Krüger dirndl is worn for many years. Available from size 32 to 54.
Stockerpoint: modern tracht from Bavaria. Fresh colours, current cuts and good value for money. Particularly strong in midi dirndls. The first choice for anyone who shops with style yet on a budget.
Alpentrachten: younger, more modern, more urban. Alpentrachten is aimed at everyone who wants to combine tracht with a contemporary look.
Süss: romantic designs with plenty of lace and femininity. Ideal for festive occasions and as a wedding guest.
Lusana: Austrian quality. Robust fabrics, traditional workmanship, long-lasting.
Spieth & Wensky: the traditional house among our brands. Classic traditional patterns and a true Bavarian labour of love. Very popular in traditional costume associations.
Shipping and Service
We usually ship within 1 to 3 working days. Delivery to Germany, Austria and Switzerland. For orders within Germany, shipping is free above a certain order value. Returns are straightforward: if the dirndl does not fit or you do not like it, you simply send it back. Our customer service is happy to help with questions about sizes, fit and orders.
A word on care: always follow the care label on your dirndl. Many models tolerate hand washing or a gentle cycle with a mild detergent without optical brighteners, while high-quality fabrics and elaborate embroidery often belong in professional cleaning. It is best to wash the apron separately, and to dry the dirndl on a hanger rather than in the tumble dryer.
If you want to buy a dirndl and be sure to wear it in time, it is best to order at least two weeks before the planned date. That leaves enough time for an exchange. Before Oktoberfest you should plan around four weeks ahead, as shipping times get tighter in peak season.
Traditional Fashion for Every Occasion
A dirndl is not a one-size-fits-all costume. Depending on the occasion it needs the right cut, the right length and the right tone. For the most important occasions we have put together our own outfit guides:
Dirndl for Oktoberfest: midi is the standard length on the Wiesn. Fresh colours, modern cuts and practical for the beer tent. Sneakers work surprisingly well as a modern combination when you want to celebrate and dance in comfort. What really matters on the Wiesn is shown in our Oktoberfest guide.
Dirndl as a wedding guest: in Bavaria, tracht at weddings is tradition. Midi or maxi in a non-white colour, festively finished, for especially elegant occasions ideally in high-quality materials such as silk. White stays reserved for the bride. How to get it right as a guest is explained on our page dirndl as a wedding guest.
Dirndl for the spring festival: lighter fabrics, pastel colours and fresh patterns. A petticoat gives the skirt extra swing. Perfect for Stuttgart and all spring festivals in April and May. You will find matching looks in our spring festival guide.
Dirndl for the Kirchweih: a traditional occasion with classic colours. Midi or long, calm patterns, with traditional stockings to match. More on the traditional look is shown in our Kirchweih guide.
Dirndl for the Cannstatter Wasen: Stuttgart's festival has its own character. Swabian traditional elements and regional accents make the difference. You will find the regional details in our Cannstatter Wasen guide.
Traditional Fashion Trends 2026
Tradition and fashion are not mutually exclusive. Every season brings new colours, cuts and details that keep even traditional garments fresh. What matters in 2026?
Green tones dominate: dark green, moss green and olive green are the colour theme of the season. Anyone buying a new dirndl who wants to be on the safe side reaches for green. It combines perfectly with bronze or gold accessories.
Puff sleeves stay: the puff-sleeve trend is no flash in the pan, it has become firmly established. If you do not yet own a puff-sleeve blouse, 2026 is the year to catch up.
Embroidery on the bodice: elaborate embroidery on the neckline and bodice is back. Floral motifs, traditional Bavarian symbols and fine ruffles add extra accents.
Pastel colours for festive occasions: pink, lavender and mint green in light tones are gaining importance for weddings and balls.
Linen for summer: natural linen fabrics for summer dirndls. Breathable, with a lovely texture and authentic.

Frequently Asked Questions About Buying a Dirndl
Which dirndl length suits which occasion?
Mini dirndls end above the knee and look young and cheeky, ideal for casual festivals. Midi dirndls between 60 and 85 cm are the universal length and suit everything from Oktoberfest to a family celebration. Long dirndls from 85 cm are the festive choice for weddings, balls and especially elegant occasions.
How do I find my correct dirndl size?
Dirndls largely follow standard clothing sizes from 32 to 54. What matters is a well-fitting bodice that emphasises the waist without constricting. Measure your bust, waist and hip circumference and compare them with our size chart. Our dirndl size guide walks you through it step by step.
Which blouse do I wear with which dirndl?
For festive dirndls, lace or Carmen blouses with a deeper neckline work well. For everyday and traditional models, high-necked or short-sleeved blouses are a better match. The white blouse is the safe all-rounder and combines with every dirndl colour.
How long does shipping take?
As a rule we ship within 1 to 3 working days to Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Before the Oktoberfest peak season we recommend planning around four weeks ahead.
Can I return a dirndl if it does not fit?
Yes. If the dirndl does not fit or you do not like it, you can return it without fuss. That is why it is worth ordering with a little time to spare before the date, so that an exchange is no problem.
Are the dirndls genuine Bavarian and Austrian tracht?
Yes. Our brands such as Krüger Dirndl, Stockerpoint, Lusana and Spieth & Wensky come from Bavaria and Austria and stand for genuine craftsmanship. We deliberately carry no fast-fashion tracht and no costume wear.
Which dirndl colours are in style for 2026?
In 2026, green tones dominate, from dark green through moss green to olive green. Classic red and dark blue remain in demand, while pastel tones such as pink, lavender and mint green are gaining ground, especially for festive occasions.
Are there dirndls in large sizes too?
Yes. Many of our models are available up to size 54 and in dedicated plus-size cuts developed for fuller figures. You will find an overview at dirndls in large sizes.
